The Endowment Fund of the Popular Culture Association was established in 1997 as a commitment to the long-term future of the study of American culture and popular culture in all its forms, venues, contexts, and exchanges. In 2018, seventy-six scholarships will be offered to support travel to the meeting–forty for graduate students ($500), fifteen for early-career faculty ($1,000), fifteen for International faculty ($1,000), and six for faculty from 2-year colleges ($1,000). Research and travel to collection grants ($1,000) will be given to three individuals and one grant ($7,500) will go to support collection building.
Please note that individuals may apply for only one grant per cycle. Those applying for more than one will be disqualified. The Primary 2018 Application cycle is now open.
Michael Schoenecke Travel Grant – for graduate students to attend the PCA Annual Conference.
Madonna and Michael Marsden International Travel Grant – for individuals NOT RESIDING IN the U.S., Canada, or Mexico to attend the PCA Annual Conference or for U.S. citizens to attend International PCA meetings held outside North America.
Peter Rollins Travel Grant – for early-career faculty to attend the PCA National Conference.
2-year College Grant – For faculty at 2-year colleges to attend the PCA National Conference.
Douglas A Noverr Grant – for Collection Enhancement for Institutions to Build Popular Culture and American Culture Research Collections.
Marshall Fishwick Travel Grant – for academic travel to Popular Culture Studies / American Culture Studies Research Collections.
