The SPORTS AREA of the Popular Culture Association and the American Culture Association invites proposals for individual or panel presentations at the annual meeting of

March 28-31, 2018
J.W. Marriott Hotel
Indianapolis, IN

Presentations related to sporting events, sports venues, and sports teams in Indianapolis as well as the Midwest (e.g., Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Chicago, ) are especially invited.  Proposals about former teams and conferences, BIG10 sports, and regional rivalries are also encouraged.

But topics on all areas of sports (history, literature, ethics, sociology, current issues, etc.) are welcomed.

Presentations should be completed within twenty minutes and should stimulate audience questions and discussion. Presentations utilizing various media are especially welcomed.

The deadline for a 250-word abstract is October 1, 2017. Inquiries about possible papers or proposals for sessions can be directed to either of the area co-chairs listed below. Presentation at the conference requires current membership in the PCA or the ACA.
